Awards Committee Formation
Each Section should form an awards committee to allow for adequate time to identify prospective nominees. The committee should include at lease one longtime CCAE member who has been section president and/or has knowledge of members who have made contributions to CCAE at the section and state levels. The committee should contact all adult school administrators and/or longtime CCAE members for suggestions. The nomination forms must be completed, signed by the section president and post marked by January *___ of the current year.(*date determined yearly)
CCAE Council Awards
Detailed descriptions and information about each award are included in the packets given to the section president in October. The State CCAE Awards are: George C. Mann Distinguished Service Award, Robert W. Rupert Award, Donald A. McCune Collaborative Award, Citation of Merit, Award of Merit, Life Membership, Partners in Adult Education Excellence Award, Excellence in Support Service Award, and Excellence in Teaching Award.
Examples of state-level service may include; state conference committee positions, or positions with the CCAE Professional Development Institute, as well as state board and standing committee positions.
Nominations Forms
All nominees must meet eligibility for that award. When forms are returned to the section president in January for signature, verify that the nominee meets the eligibility requirements for the award including membership status. Membership status may be check with the State CCAE Office.
Complimentary Awards Meal
For those who receive an award, one free meal ticket will be provided. If the recipient registers for the complete conference, she/he will receive one free meal ticket in addition to the one received with the conference registration packet. All other lunches are the responsibility of the recipient. Sections may choose to help defray the expense of additional (i.e., family members’) lunches. Please notify the Awards Chairperson of arrangements for extra tickets by April 1st, prior to the State Conference.
