Charlene worked for Grossmont Adult School for 27 years as an Administrative Clerk in the GED/High School Diploma Program.
Charlene was instrumental in creating grants for teachers and scholarships for GED students. She served a liaison between the Department of Social Services and the adult school. She worked closely with the high school counselors and gave that little nudge to many students when they showed signs of giving up. She was there for them with kind words and a warm heart!
Charlene served as Grossmont Chapter Vice President and President, Legislative Representative, Scholarship Chair, Southern Section Secretary, Vice President, President, Past President, and State Member at Large. Charlene represented Southern Section and Grossmont Chapter at Leg Day for numerous years. She also served a Co-Conference Chair and Planning Committee member for the 2002 and 2008 South Coast/Southern Section joint conferences and the 2014 State Conference.
Charlene received the CCAE Southern Section Meritorious Service Award (2004), the CCAE State Excellence in Support Service Awar4d (2005), the Grossmont Adult School Customer Service Award (2012), and the CCAE Award of Merit (2015)
