We are pleased to share that California Adult Education Program (CAEP) funding for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is receiving a 1.07% increase! In a time of budget shortfalls, this speaks very positively to the Governor and Legislature's commitment to supporting Adult Education. In June, a memo re-confirming California's commitment to maintain protected, categorical status for adult education funding was sent to school administrators. The memo is linked here. It is important for all adult education staff members to be aware that our agencies are funded by these restricted dollars that are separate from other funding sources for K-12 school districts and community colleges. During times of potential cuts and tighter budgets across districts, we encourage you to share this information with your district to ensure awareness and clarity regarding these restrictions. Our advocacy for Adult Education is as important as ever! Stay tuned for a set of webinars this coming year to help people learn more about advocacy and how they can participate!
