Classified Spotlight - Manuela "Manny" Gonzalez - South Coast Section

Manuela Gonzalez, better known as “Manny,” is amazing! As a Custodian that travels between campuses, she assists CCAE members with staff and student events throughout the year. MCAS recently closed an entire campus for renovation and moved to a different campus nearby. Manny has worked tirelessly throughout the year to assist teachers pack up and move boxes, clean out cabinets, and make the big move. Because of Manny’s leadership and assistance, the move went smoothly and students and staff were welcomed to a new campus on the first day of class.

When asked about her favorite aspects of her job, Manny shared, “Seeing everything that is involved in helping the students, and knowing that CCAE is here to fight for us and keep our programs going.”

Manny’s positive energy is a bright spot for students and staff. Beyond her daily tasks of keeping the campuses clean and well maintained, Manny assists CCAE volunteers in preparing for events throughout the year. She shared that being a CCAE member has impacted her career by boosting staff and student morale throughout the year. Manny reflected on one of her favorite experiences, stating “Being witness to all the hard work the students put into learning a new language and finishing all of their credits needed to graduate and seeing them walk is the most awesome thing I get to witness.”

MCAS is grateful for Manny and appreciates her positivity, professionalism, and dedication to CCAE.
