Bio Dan has a 30 year career with the Monterey Adult School. During that time, he has been noted as an exceptional instructor focusing on building relationships with students while also challenging them academically. Although he has been out of the classroom for several years, students and staff still talk about their experience learning English with him. Dan has been in his current role as a Program Specialist (teacher on special assignment, ESL) for the past 5 years. During this time, he has lead teacher teams in developing ESL curriculum (all levels), onboarding and coaching new instructional staff, preparing weekly agendas for staff meetings and PLCs as well as supporting data reporting to the district, consortium and state. In short, Dan's work has been invaluable to the daily functioning of the Monterey Adult School and has tirelessly advocated for Adult Education in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District for over 30 years. Dan's positive attitude and creative thinking has kept the team moving forward during difficult times. He continues to show up with a "can do" attitude and a wealth of knowledge that has sustained the Monterey Adult School for decades.
