I want to thank everyone who participated in this year's CCAE/CAEAA Legislative Day, in Sacramento, on March 23-24, which was generously sponsored by GED Testing Service and Burlington English. There were over 175 individuals who attended and participated in this event. I also want to thank Assemblywoman Patty Lopez for reading our House Resolution No. 7 on the Assembly floor and recognizing Adult Education.

Our mission to protect K-12 adult schools is not complete. It is important to follow up with your local legislators and invite them to participate in local adult education events. Remember, this is the time to ensure all legislators are educated before it goes to a vote of the full legislature, in June. Let's keep K-12 adult schools in California alive!

I look forward to seeing you this month at the 2015 CCAE State Conference, Mission Possible Adult Education: Agent for Change, in Los Angeles, on April 30-May 2. The Los Angeles Metropolitan (LAM) Section is the proud host of this year's conference, where you will be treated like a star. Please plan to attend as I recognize those who will be completing their term and install our new officers for the 2015-2017 term.

Don't forget to visit the new CCAE website throughout the month so you don't miss out on important information regarding adult education.

Sincerely,

Larriann Torrez, State Board President
California Council for Adult Education
