Marie "Toni" Gagliardi

Toni's passion and joy comes from her many years of teaching Parent Education classes. She coordinated the program for Grossmont Adult School for more than ten years. Toni was responsible for supervision, observation, assistance, and support for 30 teachers throughout East San Diego County. She was the guest speaker at many schools within the District boundaries.

Toni changed her focus and used her expertise and teaching techniques to teach English as a Second Language classes to Grossmont Adult School students. It wasn't very long before Toni's classes became the most popular among the students.

Toni developed and co-chaired the annual Family University event for eight years. Family University is a community event for families featuring craft activities, music, book fairs, and keynote speakers.

Toni developed and coordinated the Distance Learning Program for Grossmont Adult School Parent Education. She designed parenting packets for more than 25 topics relevant to preschool parenting skills.

Toni developed a student council for the ESL students to work together and give back to each other and the community. She coordinated food drives, campus cleanups, and special projects such as Jared Boxes for hospitalized children. These events are strong even now after Toni has retired.

Toni was instrumental in many WASC visits. She chaired focus groups and helped to write the final documents.

Toni Gagliardi has been a CCAE member for 20 years. She has participated and assisted at many CCAE conferences at the section and state level. She's presented several workshops featuring Parent Education topics. Toni has assisted with registration, decorations, workshops, and has helped stuff many a conference bag! Toni is currently co-chair of the Social Committee for the Grossmont Chapter.
