Excellence in Support Services

Pennie Lewis

Pennie Lewis has worked at the campus supervisor at Visalia Adult School for fourteen years.

Students at Visalia Adult School all describe Pennie Lewis as the friendly lady who greets you every day as she makes her rounds around the school in her golf cart. Her primary responsibilities include making sure that the campus is a safe and welcoming place for all. Her “view from the cart” gives her the opportunity to check the campus from the parking lots to the classrooms, many times a day. With a warm smile and a friendly “hello”, Pennie greets students throughout the day, getting to know many of them by name. She often goes out of her way to check with students on their progress, and assist them in overcoming any barriers that might make it difficult for them to attend school. Students often seek her out for advice or for answers to their questions. Whenever a problem arises on campus, Pennie is often the first on the scene to lend a helpful hand or provide basic first aid. She loves interacting with students of all ages. Pennie considers herself a small part of an outstanding and dedicated team at Visalia Adult School, but the truth is that she plays an important role on our campus in providing our students and staff a sense of belonging.

In addition to serving as the Campus Supervisor, Pennie also frequently assists in planning school activities including the ongoing fundraising of the CCAE Visalia Chapter. She works tirelessly to make the Visalia Adult School a better place. Her creativity, decorating talents, and initiative have earned her the nickname of “Martha Stewart of the West Coast”. Pennie’s genuine love of the school and her dedication to the students at Visalia Adult School make her a valued employee.
