Vicki has worked as Administrative Secretary for Grossmont Adult Education for 29 years during which time she acquired her designated subjects credential allowing her to teach Office Assistant classes at Grossmont as well.

Over the past decade Vicki has been an active member of CCAE holding office at the Chapter and Section levels. She has attended several legislation Days with CCAE as a representative of her Grossmont Chapter and as an advocate for adult education. She has also served as secretary to the East Region Adult Education Consortium as well as co-chaired the 2014 WASC review for her site.

As an advocate attending Leg Day for CCAE she was able to successfully convey the talking points and guide students as they visited the legislators. In her home site she was able to keep interest in saving adult education when Flex time came around and everyone was panicking. She was a positive influence for the students and staff alike in assuring all that adult education would continue and that CCAE was their voice in Sacramento and they would be heard. This gave many staff members who might otherwise have changed fields, the confidence to stay and ride out the storm. People like Vicki don't do things in a big , flashy way, they speak directly and from the heart and to MANY, MANY, MANY people!

As a strong leader and advocate for CCAE and adult education in general, Vicki has kept the Grossmont chapter alive almost single handedly over the past several years. When there was no one stepping forward to assure there would be a chapter board, it was Vicki who rallied them to step up. At the Section level, Vicki held the office of President elect for 2 terms to assist when we needed her. She later stepped into the President's position for 2 years. During her term we were very successful in partnering with South Coast chapter for an excellent fall conference, not once but TWICE! During her time at Grossmont she has actively participated on the planning committee for 3 CCAE State conferences as well as presented.

Vicki has always gone above and beyond in caring for her fellow workers. She never forgot a birthday or celebration. When anyone needed anything, it was Vicki who stared the collecting, or notifying. She leads with her heart in all things, be it work , CCAE, or family. She is now a very proud and happy Grandma to beautiful 2 and a half year old Alena - who has become the light of her life and focus of her days!
