Professional Background

Notable Accomplishments
My Adult Education Story
My mother, Sheila Saenz, began her adult educational career in 1999 and when I graduated in 2000, she encouraged me to enter the field. But like most children, I wasn't ready to head her advice. But in 2004, I earned my substitute Credential and as soon as I entered the classroom experienced an "A ha Moment." Ever since that date, I have been happy to assist students meet their dreams and goals and in the knowledge that I found my calling.
CCAE Involvement
I have been a CCAE Member since becoming an Adult Educator in 2004. I would attend both state and local conferences, but it wasn't until 2012, that I saw the full value of CCAE. In 2012, I saw the power that CCAE at the State level and my local union at the local level combined advocacy saved CA Adult Education. Since then I began giving back to CCAE by volunteering and now I serve as a Board Member in the CCAE LAM Section.
Community Leadership
I am Co-Founder of two non-profits that serve the SGV LGBTQ Community. In 2000, the San Gabriel Valley Pride Festival and in 2011, the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ Center. I currently serve as the Center's Board President.
