12/2002 – to date: Assistant Principal, Adult Counseling Services, LA Unified School District/Division of Adult and Career Education (Employed at a variety of school sites: Roosevelt Community Adult School (CAS), Garfield CAS, Roosevelt-Garfield CAS, East Los Angeles Service Area, Slawson Southeast OC, and Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center)

• Plan and organize school and counseling activities, such as fundraisers and the annual 8th Grade and High School Commencement.  Raised over $1000 for student scholarships in Halloween Dance – 2018-19
• Served as Accreditation Co-Chair and granted 6 years Accreditation –  2017-18
• Placed 3rd among 11 adult schools in the number of students transitioning from one program to the next by providing Pathways presentation and student goal-setting activities – 2017-18

My “Adult Education Story”
I am thankful for the person who shared the message of adult education with my grandmother, Corrine Galloway.  She earned her high school diploma from Belmont Adult School in 1969.  The message caused a generational shift in my family toward the importance of education. It serves as a testimony of the value of adult education and strengthens my resolve to leave a legacy of actively promoting this cause. I encourage all of our members to continue to share the good news of adult education with everyone.
