Bio
Debra A. O’Brian has been a school counselor for 30 years and has worked in adult education for Sweetwater Unified as a counselor for 16 years. She is a strong student supporter on campus and works to help students feel welcomed and individually heard. Debra says, “I listen to students and brainstorm with them on how to overcome barriers that they may face in getting their high school diploma, high school equivalency, learning English or achieving a career training.” Debra provides resources for students that need them and loves celebrating their accomplishments with them. She is their personal cheerleader on campus. Debra notes, “Helping students get farther, faster" is my goal and rethinking ways to make that happen has been a huge part of my career!”
