Elizabeth Cantu has worked for LAUSD Adult Ed for 19 years and has been a member of CCAE for 13 years. She started her career as an ESL teacher and taught at every level including distance learning. Her current position is program performance (WIOA/CAEP) advisor at Los Angeles Technology Center. What she enjoys most about the job is that she works with teachers and students of all programs and is able to have a more global perspective of adult education expectations and state requirements. What her administration and colleagues enjoy is her enthusiasm and innovative approach to getting the job done. What the students enjoy is her friendly and stress-free attitude. There’s a famous phrase that says, you can tell a lot about a person when he/she is under pressure. During COVID is one such circumstance when Ms. Cantu rose to the occasion to ensure that all students were CASAS tested even to the extent of working extra to meet the challenge.
