Gale Ard teaches level 4 ESL and ESL/Citizenship at Bassett Adult School. She began teaching adult women in prison in 2009. She has taught GED Preparation, creative writing and poetry, conflict transformation, restorative justice, and recovery skills for survivors of various forms of abuse. She also co-formed a non-profit to teach career skills to adults reentering the workforce including veterans, unemployed women, and women on federal assistance required to get a job. She holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and a J.D., law degree.

Gale is an ardent supporter of Adult Education and has attended CCAE’s yearly Legislative Day in Sacramento for the past three years to lobby for the continuation and growth of Adult Education. She strives to strengthen her teaching skills and to develop curriculum through participation in the Mt. SAC Consortia, CCASE, and CATESOL.

Gale is currently President of the Bassett Chapter of CCAE and is always ready to assume other leadership roles at both the Chapter and Section levels. Her mission is to improve the lives of the students she teachings and to assist them in reaching their goals.
