Gina Gamez Paiz

Bio
Gina Gamez Paiz is an Academic Pathway Advisor for Slawson Occupational Center in the Southeast Community for over two decades. Her tireless service in a support assignment began at Elizabeth Learning Center (ELC) where she oversaw the day to day operations and worked collaboratively with the Parent Center and Parenting program. She is a “triple threat” advisor who knows all programs that include ESL, Academic and CTE where she assesses and places students. Gina evaluates transcripts and is a strong student advocate. Her passion for education and what she does is evident throughout all four of Slawson Southeast Occupational Center campuses as she serves all students without reservation.
Gina is highly regarded by all students, staff, faculty and administration. She is the HiSET point person, she collaborates and works with the LARAEC Action Plan Teams, and facilitates the Academic PLC. She supports the Saturday program, was instrumental in their WASC Leadership Team, and to top it off she is a Student Council facilitator. Ms. Paiz plays a pivotal role for the school and is an asset to all.
As an active CCAE member for many years Gina became a Diamond Member several years ago. She also is Slawson’s school site CCAE representative and volunteers at LA Metro Section conferences and activities. Gina is currently participating in planning meetings for this 2022 CCAE State Conference as part of the state conference committee.
Lastly, State CCAE President, Sonya Ramirez states that “Gina Gamez Paiz is committed to our students, staff, faculty, administration and Division. If you have the honor of knowing Gina, you know what an asset she is to Adult Education.”
