Bio
Marisol Manzo is the heartbeat of the front office at Montebello’s Ford Park Adult School campus. Marisol is the first-person students see when they come in to enroll. She sets students up to take the CASAS test and stays with them until they are assigned to a class. Because Marisol was once an adult ed student, she truly understands how students feel and she knows how to approach them and makes them want to stay in school, and because of her special attention they do stay. She is compassionate. When someone walks in and feels anxious about starting school, she will listen to their fears and then encourage them by saying “You can do it!” Marisol’s favorite part of her job is helping students get to the right class. She knows Montebello’s programs inside and out, and students often ask Marisol her opinion on which teacher or program might be right for them. Of course, counselors enroll and assign classes, but before students see a counselor, they see Marisol.
On the day of an event or fundraiser, Marisol is the first one to begin setting up. She organizes the volunteers, gives them their assignments, and helps troubleshoot anything that comes up. Montebello Ford Park Adult School’s teachers, staff and administrators feel fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, capable, and strong resource in their office.
