With a BA in Communications and a MA in Education Bob Lynch has proven to be an excellent ESL Teacher at Tri Community. He exhibits all the qualities that are equated to excellence in education and instruction. Bob shares his positivity and passion for adult education among all members of the school community. His focus is always the improvement and engagement of students, and he works closely with staff and administration to implement student goals and objectives in his ESL classes. He has the unique ability to gain the trust and support of those he works with, leading them through the implementation of a shared vision of life-long learning. Bob treats each of his students with great dignity and respect. He has helped Tri Community create a positive environment that is very student-oriented and focuses on building positive self-esteem through high standards and well-designed instruction. His ability to listen responsively to students and staff has contributed to the respect he is granted by those who work with him. His use of technology in his ESL Level 1, 2, & 3 classes is exceptional. Using Google Translate, Bob will work with 8 different languages at one time to assist his students in becoming adapted to the English language. Bob assists ESL students to acclimate to American society, to deal with real-life issues in English by teaching them to express themselves in written and spoken English by developing strong rapport with all students, encouraging them to be their best and to believe in themselves. Bob’s success at multiple levels can be explained partially because of his ability to relate effectively to adult students, faculty, community partners and administrators. He accepts responsibility and readily carries out his duties with effectiveness, efficiency, and due diligence. Bob is a proven adult education teacher exhibited by his outstanding knowledge, experience, effective communication, and collaborative leadership. He puts students’ needs first and is an asset to the school.
Bob is well versed in championing the cause of adult learners and making a significant impact on adult education. He has participated in Legislative Action Day as one of the leads for the CCAE South Coast Section. He has worked at influencing public policy and legislation at the state and local levels. Bob and his team met with assembly and senators to educate and lobby for adult education funding, immigrant integration, employment opportunities, increasing opportunity for career technical education training, and increased literacy. Bob is also part of the Mt. SAC Regional Adult Ed Consortium that works collaboratively with partner organizations to create pathways to college and career, leverage funds and resources, and bring back services to adult learners. He is an essential member of the ESL workgroup, working on aligning curriculum and creating an ESL report card. He has worked on collecting and reviewing relevant adult ed data, writing performance goals, and identifying strategies for achieving continuous improvement and learner success. Bob is a true professional, performing his duties with caring, thoroughness, and ability. He demonstrates great insight into the needs of his English-as-a-Second Language students and has assisted in increasing their technological skills during this pandemic. Bob invites and includes current and former students to participate in legislative meetings to instill in them that they can be and should be active in our government. Bob is a skilled communicator who truly listens to what students are saying and responds to them in a direct and caring manner. He maintains positive working relationships with students and staff. Bob has served CCAE in many capacities as membership chair, legislative meetings, chapter president and vice president, CA state representative for COABE, South Coast Section vice president, South Coast section president elect, and developed the new South Coast Section website.
Bob has six younger siblings whose names begin with the letter K. His family calls him KBob so he won't feel left out. His father was a retired teacher. One of his sisters is a retired teacher. One of his sisters-in-law is currently a teacher, and one of his brothers, who is a professional musician, privately teaches guitar.
