Martha Reyes has been teaching with Sweetwater Union High School District for eighteen years. She started as an Instructional Assistant and at the same time worked on her Bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies as well as her teaching credential. She was hired as an ESL teacher in 2004 and during her tenure has had the opportunity to teach all levels of ESL. Currently, Martha is an IET (Integrated Education and Training) teacher where she co-teaches alongside CTE teachers at her site. Martha is an ambitious teacher who cares deeply for her students and will go to great lengths to render support to anyone who needs it whether a student or a colleague. Martha is also finishing up a Preliminary Services Credential program after having completed a Master's program in Special Education. Martha is a teacher that colleagues often depend on and call upon for her knowledge in technology and all things Google. Her willingness to avail herself whenever possible is to be admired and deserves to be recognized for the great work she is doing in Adult Ed and the difference she is making in her student's lives. Martha has been a member of CCAE since 2019 and has served as her chapters secretary for three years. Despite her busy schedule fulfilling her duties as a mother, wife, teacher and student she continues to volunteer her time in CCAE and other organizations.
