Sandy Matsumura

Sandy Matsumura started the Torrance Adult School (TAS) CCAE Chapter five years ago. She has kept the chapter up and running since then, in several roles such as President, President-Elect, and other various Chair positions. Sandy has represented Torrance Adult School and the CCAE Torrance Chapter by participating in South Coast Section meetings both online via Zoom and face-to-face. As a gracious host, she has also led the Torrance Adult School CCAE Chapter in meetings with legislators and attended Legislative Day several times in Sacramento.

As the senior Staff Assistant at TAS, Mrs. Matsumura is often the first face that students see when they walk into the main office or the first voice they hear when they call. She always has a cheerful, welcoming disposition that makes even Torrance Adult School second language learners feel comfortable and safe. Sandy is the "go-to" person for anything at TAS for teachers, students, and all staff. She has the answers!

Sandy Matsumura epitomizes an exceptional classified staff member at TAS, caring about the support and success of the students served at TAS. She consistently goes beyond the call of duty for the students, staff, and greater adult education community.
